Welcome to Our Newest Doctor - Dr. Mitra Abessi MD

To our patients:

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Mitra Abessi will be joining our practice as of September 1st. Dr. Abessi has recently relocated from Albany with her husband and two young children. She is compassionate and well trained. Her warmth and kindness are readily apparent upon your initial encounter. She is skilled in general Internal Medicine, preventive medicine, and women’s health issues. Her scope of services will include all primary care and Internal Medicine issues. In addition, she will provide female PAP and pelvic examinations for routine care and acute related issues.

Dr. Abessi, born and raised in Wyckoff, NJ, graduated with honors in Biology and Spanish at Union College in Schenectady, NY. She then pursued her MBA in Health Systems Administration at Union College. She attended medical school at St. George’s University, where she met her husband who is now a practicing Vascular Surgeon in the area. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Albany Medical College and worked for the last 4 years at a large multispecialty medical group consisting of over 37 practices and 16 specialties across 4 counties. Dr. Abessi, her husband, and her two sons have relocated to the area to be closer to her family in New Jersey. Dr. Abessi is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is on the Attending Staff at University Medical Center at Princeton.

Dr. Abessi and I have a similar approach to patient care. We share the patient first approach. She will be an easy addition to our growing practice.

Her schedule will include 0900AM – 0400 PM on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. She will be replacing Dr. Sarah Werbel, who has left the practice as of July 31st.
